When is the best time to visit?
The high travel season in the Faroe Island is from April to September, but you can come to the Faroe Island year-round. Your decision should depend on what you are seeking.
However, keep in mind that weather in the Faroe Island can be unpredictable throughout the year, with rapid changes and occasional rains. If you’re intrested in birdwatching, the spring and early summer months are also favorable as many migratory birds visit the islands during this time.
If you are seeking a unique experience, winther can be magical, with the possibility of witnessing the Northern Lights and enjoying a quieter atmosphere. Just be prepared for colder temperatures and shorter daylight hours.
How do I get to the Faroe Islands?

Tórshavn Camping’s Steps for a Greener Future
Green Camping
We have received the Green Camping certificate because we make an extra effort to take care of nature.
Food Waste
At Tórshavn Camping, we provide a shared drawer in the kitchen, where guests can place food they don’t need, so others are welcome to use it.”
Saving water
At Tórshavn Camping, we care about saving water – that’s why our showers give you 4 minutes of refreshing water every 10 minutes. Just enough time to get clean without wasting a drop! Don’t forget to press the pause button while you’re soaping up – it helps save water while still leaving plenty for a proper rinse. Every drop counts!
All our taps are water-saving too, and in the restrooms the sensors make sure we only use the water we really need.”
Green Booking System
Our booking platform and hosting center powered by CompuSoft is mainly powered by solar and wind energy.
Here, a 48 kW hybrid solar PV system and a large battery bank for energy storage have been installed. In 2023, it also added its very own wind turbine, which helps generate power at night and on less sunny days.
As a solution provider to the tourism and experience industry, CompuSoft’s goal is to care for the climate, and their choice of solar and wind energy is part of their and our commitment to a more sustainable future.
Eco-labeled Cleaning
At Tórshavn Camping, we use eco-labeled cleaning products.
Sorting Waste
At Tórshavn Camping we sort the waste into these fractions:
Paper/Cardboard
